Sandy Minck is a Blood Service Medical Officer for the Transfusion Clinical Governance Unit.
I have been with the Blood Service for over 6 years and have had experience as a Donor and Product Safety Medical Officer and as Deputy Medical Services Manager. I was seconded to the National Medical Education role in 2007 and to the Transfusion Clinical Governance Unit in 2010.
I have been appointed to both the Steering Committee and Project Group of the Iron Taskforce to assist in the development of a broader strategy to manage donor iron deficiency.
Additionally, I have developed a strategic paper on the Blood Service’s role in Anaemia Management as part of a broader Patient Blood Management Strategy.
