Blood Service in Brief Edition 15, April 2016

From the Chief Executive

A very warm welcome to this edition of Blood Service in Brief, my first as Chief Executive of the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood.

After just one month in the position I’m still learning every day about the Blood Service’s relationship with our customers and stakeholders, along with the work we’re doing to improve our products and service to you.

I hope you enjoy the stories in this edition, which include news on Zika and the Australian blood supply, the country’s biggest-ever kidney exchange operation, and a learning exchange with an overseas blood service facing incredible challenges.

There’s also information on our Transfusion Education program calendar, services we’re now providing beyond blood products, and more.

I look forward to continuing the improvements driven by my predecessor and the team here, and to working with and for you in the coming months.

Kind regards,

Shelly Park
Chief Executive
