Tracey Spigiel

Tracey Spigiel, RN, Grad Dip Onc, MNSc

Tracey Spigiel is a Senior Nurse with the Blood Service’s Transfusion Clinical Governance Unit, and is based in Adelaide.

 

I have a clinical background in Haematology/oncology, Bone Marrow Transplantation and Transfusion Medicine, and was previously employed as a BloodSafe Transfusion Clinical Practice Consultant. I have also worked within the fields of Safety, Quality and Risk management and transitional care services.

As part of my master’s degree, I conducted a systematic review focusing on information about transfusion for consumers.  I am a Clinical Associate Lecturer with the School of Nursing at the University of Adelaide and I have presented at numerous national meetings.

My areas of interest include transfusion medicine, patient blood management, haemovigilance and clinical practice improvement. I am passionate about equity of access to health care and health information.
