Transfusion Orientation Pack - A Pilot for Junior Medical Officers (JMOs)

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service has developed a Transfusion Orientation Pack to promote safe transfusion practice and deliver education and training materials to JMOs.

A series of transfusion education tools were developed based on the Transfusion Education Focus Group outcomes conducted with JMOs, and include: Transfusion cards (Blood Prescribing Card, Acute Transfusion Reactions Card and Warfarin Reversal Card), Transfusion Checklist, Transfusion Overview Poster, Acute Transfusion Reactions Poster, and a Patient Blood Management Improves Outcomes Infographic. The tools can be accessed here.

These tools will be included into the JMOs orientation and education pilot program commencing Monday 9 January 2017 and finishing Tuesday 28 February 2017. Find out more about the pilot here and see how you can provide feedback below.
