New-look websites launched

◄ Back to Transfusion News

About one-third of all internet use in Australia now occurs on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets—and it’s still growing.

That’s why the Blood Service has recently updated two of our public websites: donateblood.com.au for blood donors and mytransfusion.com.au for patients and their families.

Both sites now feature responsive website design, where the elements of a webpage, like photos and text, move around to suit the size of the screen it’s being viewed on. They also have new, intuitive structures to help both mobile and desktop users easily find the information they need.

The websites have also both been refreshed with vibrant photos and content rewritten to ensure that the medical information is explained in layperson terms. This is particularly important for the new ‘My Transfusion’ site which, as an information resource for patients having transfusions, needs to convey a lot of complex medical information about different blood components and their risks and benefits in an easy-to-understand way.

To explore these new sites visit donateblood.com.au  or mytransfusion.com.au
